Module Study Groups

In 2016 we started a Module Study Group to help a group of members prepare to take Module 1 in March 2017. The group met in members homes.

We enrol on the correspondence course run by the BBKA and work through the 5 papers.  These are not exam questions but are designed to cover the whole syllabus. The questions were shared out between the group. The completed papers are emailed to the tutor who "marked" them. No actual mark but comments added.

It is necessary to have passed the Basic Assessment before sitting the Modules (or any other BBKA exams/assessments) so members of the group already have  a good grounding in the basics of beekeeping and are actively keeping bees. You can study for the modules before you have taken the Basic.

As is usual, when a group of beekeepers get together, there was lots of swapping stories and experiences. It's a pleasant way to learn more about bees and beekeeping.

Come along and learn more about bees and beekeeping. You do not have to commit to taking the exam by coming to the group.Modules can be taken in any order (apart from module 8, which has to be last). If you are interested in taking any modules or just coming to a group then send me an email.
The group is now starting on Module 2 so come along even if you haven't looked at Module 1. We have meetings booked at the big Tesco's in Arnold for Tuesday 10th December and 13th January. Contact me if you need any more information.
